Every semester grades 6-8 will compete against one another to see which grade raises the most cash by bringing in trash! Students of the winning grade have a chance to silly string members of MCJA’s staff and win gift cards!

How can you help your student’s grade win? Send them to school with Coke Give codes, Box Tops, and Community Coffee proof of purchase labels and place them in the drop box located inside door 12 near the stairwell. Also, scan receipts after purchasing Box Tops items. A volunteer collects the “trash” from the school and credits each grade, tracking it on a standings board. Help make this program a success! It’s an easy way to raise funds for activities and enrichment for McKinley’s students and teachers.

Each program requires different items/actions to participate in, so please review the following links to familiarize yourself with what to send in.

Community Coffee proof of purchase labels

Here are some tips on how to raise more cash!

  • Ask friends and neighbors to add McKinley Classical Junior Academy to their Box Top app.
  • Know someone outside of school who drinks Coke products? Have them text/email you photos of codes, and then send the codes to mcja.trash4cash@gmail.com with the name of your student and their grade.
  • Ask organizations that serve coffee if they use Community Coffee at gatherings and if you may collect the proof of purchase labels.

  Box Tops Information

No more clipping. No more sending Box Tops to school. All you need is your phone. Download the Box Tops app (IOS or Android), choose McKinley Classical Junior Academy as your school, shop as you normally would, then simply scan your store receipts to find participating products. The app will automatically credit the school’s Box Tops earnings online. Make sure to pick a grade level in the “Give Credit” section and enter the student’s name. For a list of the participating brands, visit www.boxtops4education.com/s/box-tops-products

If you see a No More Clipping Box Tops label on an item you purchased, use the Box Tops app (IOS or Android) to scan your receipt within 14 days of purchase. Each Box Tops item is still worth 10 cents for our school, but the app also includes several bonus opportunities. The app finds the purchased participating products and instantly adds cash to our school’s earnings online. See how easy it is here!

An account is required, but if privacy is a concern, you can cross through your name and credit card information or fold your receipt to hide it. Only the store name, date/time, Box Tops items, and the total spent is required for credit. Before submitting your receipt, hit the CREDIT button and enter your student’s name and grade. This way, the coordinator can credit your child’s grade in the current semester’s grade competition!

If you bought Box Tops items and only received a digital receipt (for example, receipts from Instacart, Target Pickup, Walmart.com, and Shipt), email that receipt to receipts@boxtops4education.com using the same email associated with your Box Tops account. Click here for detailed instructions. When you receive a confirmation email showing what you earned, forward it to mcja.trash4cash@gmail.com along with your student’s grade in order to receive credit in the class competition. For detailed program information, visit the Box Tops website.

Community Coffee Cash for Schools Information

This program is as easy as drinking coffee! Just look for the proof of purchase (POP) label on any Community Coffee product, clip it out, and send it to school in a bag or envelope marked with the student’s name and grade level. These can be found on coffee bags, K-cup boxes, creamer, tea, filters, and bulk items sent to restaurants, hotels, and offices. All submitted Community Coffee POPs will be included in the semester’s grade competition.
