We highly recommend all parents become approved volunteers! Volunteering at McKinley is also a wonderful way to get to know your child’s friends, teachers, administration, and other parents. Becoming an approved volunteer will allow you to help in the way that works best for your schedule. Regardless of skill level or availability, if you would like to be involved, we have a place for you! Even if you aren't an approved volunteer, there are many ways to volunteer outside of school (BoxTops, donating breakfast items for monthly staff breakfasts, etc.).

For the safety of our children, all volunteers must be approved before helping at McKinley. The approval process includes standard paperwork and a background check, which is paid for by SLPS. Volunteers must renew their application every two years.
